You don’t think about how you look while you hug your best friend, teach your kiddos how to pump their legs on the swingset, or pinch your partner’s butt in the coffee shop line and steal a kiss.
You live those moments fully, without a second thought. And getting your photo taken shouldn’t interfere with how beautiful your life naturally is. It should let the intimacy of those special moments shine, so they can be felt fully over and over through your photographs.
All I want is for you to look at your gallery and think, “Omg this is SO us!”
It should come as no surprise that the moments where you really feel like yourself usually don’t come around when a camera is present. As a photographer, that may sound super inconvenient, but as a Becca (I’m Becca, btw), that’s a welcome challenge.
I would call myself a fly on the wall while taking photos, but that’s… gross (right!!?). Maybe instead… wallpaper in your home? The ivy on an old building? Idk I’ll keep working on it.
The point is — the less you notice me, the easier it becomes to free yourself of all anxieties, expectations, and (most) awkwardness to freely live in the moment. So…now’s the time to get to know me, that way when it’s time for your session you’ll be comfortable forgetting alllll about me.

Invite 20 people or hundreds to your backyard wedding. Wear combat boots with your dress. Keep your vows private. Have your mom walk you down the aisle. Dance because you feel it, don’t do it for tradition's sake. If you’re over portraits, go rejoin the party. And cherish the intimacy of your candlelit dinner.
