Emily + Max | Gibraltar Gardens + Delaware Art Museum - Wilmington, DE Wedding

Mother Nature + I really battled it out for Emily + Max’s October wedding. At the start of the day it was unusually warm for October, which probably meant a storm was going to roll through in the afternoon. Sure enough, it did.

The ceremony was at Emily + Max’s local church, St. Ann Roman Catholic Church, located in Wilmington, Delaware. Following the ceremony we photographed family portraits at the church and for the formal portraits we planned the beautiful Gibraltar Gardens, which was down the road *thankfully*. The wind picked up and the clouds became very dark… very fast. We managed about 15 minutes of beautiful portraits at Gibraltar before the first drops of rain started. By the time we got in the car the sky let loose. Luckily, the storm blew over fast and we only had a light steady rain for the remainder of the evening. Thanks Mother Nature for letting us get our portraits in!

*If you know anything about Gibraltar, there’s a beautiful staircase on the property. We really wanted to do portraits there, but the tree above was dropping all of its walnuts because of the wind! Don’t worry, there were no bonks on the head during our session together.

Emily + Max's reception venue was at the Delaware Art Museum in Wilmington. I love photographing weddings with a creative + different venue! If you’re looking for a unique and smaller venue in New Castle County, the Delaware Art Museum is the perfect space.
